Something I really wanted to do in the past was take workshops/classes in the genres that I’m interested in. I never did it, possibly due to depression/anxiety but mostly I was just afraid of getting out of my comfort zone and failing. The thing is that everyone fails but it’s what you do with that failure and what you learn from it that matters. So, in an effort to get out of my comfort zone I signed up for a Street Photography workshop being held in New York City in May of next year being taught by Valérie Jardin. The plan is to go by train from where I live to NYC, do the workshop, maybe stay the day after the workshop and then hop a train back home. I’m leaning towards the train as it’s something I’ve only done a couple of times in my life, once here in the US and once on a work trip to the Czech Republic, both were wonderful experiences. To say I’m excited about it is an understatement!
